Rothesay dükü

Rothesay Dükü,[1] Birleşik Krallık tahtının varisine ait olan bir unvandır. Şu anda Galler Prensi William’a aittir. William'ın eşi Galler Prensesi Catherine, şu anki Rothesay Düşesidir. Rothesay Dükü, 1707'den önce İskoçya Krallığı'nın, 1707'den 1800'e kadar Büyük Britanya Krallığı'nın ve günümüzde ise Büyük Britanya ve Kuzey İrlanda Birleşik Krallığı'nın tahtının varisinin unvanıdır. Birleşik Krallık'ın geri kalanında ve denizaşırı ülkelerde Cornwall Dükü ve Galler Prensi unvanları kullanılırken Rothesay Dükü unvanı ise İskoçya'da iken veliaht tarafından kullanılması zorunlu olan bir unvandır. Rothesay Dükü ayrıca Carrick Kontu, Renfrew Baronu, Adalar Lordu ve İskoçya Prensi ve Büyük Vekilharcı gibi diğer İskoç unvanlarına da sahiptir. Unvan adını Bute Adası'ndaki Rothesay'den bölgesinden alır ancak Cornwall Dükalığı'nın aksine herhangi bir tüzel kişilik veya toprak mülkiyeti ile ilişkili değildir.
