İngilizce noktalamada seri virgül (Bazen Oxford virgülü veya Harvard virgülü olarak anılır.),[1][2] üç veya daha fazla terimden oluşan bir dizide, "ve" bağlacının arkasına [yani koordinasyon birleşiminden önce (genellikle ve veya veya)] yerleştirilen virgüldür.[3][3][4][5] Seri virgülün en önemli işlevi, anlamda muğlaklığı engellemesidir.[6]
Yazarlar ve editörler arasındaki İngilizcenin bölgesel türevleri arasındaki görüşler, seri virgül kullanılıp kullanılmayacağına göre farklı fikirler içerir. Örneğin İngiliz İngilizcesi, seri virgül kullanımını pek yaygın içermez iken[7] Amerikan İngilizcesinde yaygındır. Hatta seri virgülün kullanılması genellikle zorunlu kabul edilir.[8] APA stili,[9] Chicago Stil Kılavuzu, Garner'ın Modern Amerikan Kullanımı,[10] MLA Stil Kılavuzu, Strunk[11] ve White'ın Stil Öğeleri ve ABD Hükûmeti Baskı Ofisi Stil Kılavuzu dâhil olmak üzere, Amerikan stil kılavuzlarının çoğu seri virgül kullanımını önerir.[12] Buna karşılık AP Stylebook ise bu kullanıma karşı tavsiyede bulunuyor.[13]
