日本語: 『米軍が記録した日本空襲』のキャプションは「3月10日の空襲夜が明けると、東京の江東・墨田地区運河も道路も公園も、逃げまどう最中に焼死した黒こげの遺体で埋めつくされていた。」。
English: On 10 March, 1945 was Tokyo bombed by The Operation Meetinghouse 2 of the US force, which killed and injured 83,793 and 40,918 people, respectively, and destroyed 268,358 houses. These are the figures investigated by then Japanese police but do not include ten thousands missing people. At the same time the air raid produced a great deal of orphans.
