Dowse, 21 Şubat 1958'de Honolulu, Hawaii'de doğdu.[3] Norfolk Eyalet Üniversitesi'nden mezun oldu. 1988'de başladığı oyunculuk ve yönetmenlik kariyerini 2022 yılındaki ölümüne kadar sürdürdü. En çok; Bayan Yvonne Teasley rolünde olduğu TV dizisi; Beverly Hills, 90210 (1991-2000),[4] Yargıç Rebecca Damsen rolünde olduğu TV dizisi; The Guardian (2001-2004) ve Dr. Rhonda Pine rolünde olduğu TV dizisi; Insecure ile akıllarda kaldı. Yer aldığı diğer bazı yapımlar arasında; Bio-Dome (1996), Starship Troopers (1997), A Civil Action (1998), Ray (2003), Coach Carter (2005) ve The Call (2013) sayılabilir.[5]
Ölümü değiştir
Ağustos 2022 başında memenjit geçirerek komaya giren Dowse, tüm çabalara rağmen kurtarılamayarak[6] 13 Ağustos 2022'de Los Angeles, Kaliforniya'da 64 yaşında vefat etmiştir.[7]
