53. satır:
Serkan Çağri is a unique clarinetist in the world of music. Capable of highly nuanced microtonal inflection and improvisation, a requisite of Turkish music, his technique and artistry is capable of bending and blending into musical cultures around the world. He has performed internationally as a soloist worldwide and his concert and tour schedule continues.
Born in the [[Keşan]] district of [[Edirne]], [[Turkey]] in 1976, Çağri began his study of the clarinet at seven years of age. Early success inspired the pursuit of an undergraduate degree at the State Turkish Music Conservatory of Ege University (1995) and Istanbul Technical University (1998). His master’s degree was earned at Haliç University (2006) and he currently pursues his doctorate at the Baku Musical Academy. Çağri’s education has inspired his teaching of the instrument in Turkey’s institutions of higher education as well as a music school he has founded in the heart of Istanbul.

Çağri’s performance credits are too vast to detail. Highlights include his work with the Balkan Jazz Project, the Rumeli Band, Montreux Jazz (Switzerland), Jazz a Vienne (France), Rhythm Sticks (England), Moers Festival (Germany), Ethnomalaga (Spain), and Skopje Jazz (Macedonia). He has additionally performed with musicians worldwide including Vassilis Saleas, Giora Feidman, Ian Anderson, Gypsy Kings, George Zamphir , Trilok Gurto, Koçani Orkestrası, Stravros Pazarentsis. His performances can additionally be heard in motion picture soundtracks such as Eyvah, Eyvah.
59. satır:
During his academical studies, he made researchs on Historical Process of Clarinet in Turkey and Europe, in which his articles were published in several magazines. These studies also made him to write an educational book, “Techniques of Performing G Clarinet”, which can be found in musicstores.

Çağri’s career has led to his star status in the [[Turkish Republic]]; he is known as a figure of both traditional and pop culture. He hosts his own weekly [[TRT]] television broadcasts and has designed clarinets with both Amati and Hammerschmidt companies; the latter company carries a G clarinet designed by the artist that bears his name.

It is very likely that the [[clarinet]] will never be as popular as it is today in Turkey largely because Çağri continues an unparalleled tradition of clarinet performance. His musicality and performing style have, however, reached far beyond Turkey’s borders. He is a performer who has had and will continue to enjoy worldwide appeal and popularity.
