John Barth

John Simmons Barth (27 Mayıs 1930- 2 Nisan 2024), Amerikalı romancı ve kısa hikâye yazarıdır. Postmodernist yapıtlarıyla bilinir.

John Barth Cambridge, Maryland'de doğdu. Johns Hopkins üniversitesini 1951'de bitirdi. Penn Eyalet Üniversitesi'nde 1953-65, Buffalo Üniversitesi'nde 1965-73, Boston Üniversitesi'nde 1972-73 ve Johns Hopkins Üniversitesi'nde 1973-95 yıllarında profesörlük yaptı. 1995'te emekliye ayrıldı. Barth, 2 Nisan 2024'te Bonita Springs, Florida'da kaldığı bir bakım evinde doğal nedenlerden 93 yaşında öldü.
