François-Guillaume Ménageot
François-Guillaume Ménageot (1744, Londra – 1816, Paris), dini sahneleri ve Fransız tarihi sahnelerini resmeden Fransız ressamdı. François Boucher'ın (1703–1770) öğrencisiydi. Roma Grand Prix'sini kazandı ve Roma'daki Fransız Akademisi'nin bir yöneticisi, bir akademisyen ve bir Enstitü üyesi oldu.
Ménageot, bir sanat tüccarı ve Denis Diderot'un danışmanı olan Augustin Ménageot'un (ö. 1784) oğlu olarak Londra'da doğdu. François-Guillaume ilk çalışmalarında Jean-Baptiste-Henri Deshays, ardından Joseph-Marie Vien ve son olarak François Boucher (1703–1770) altında eğitim aldı. İlk çalışmalarında ikincisinin tarzını ve sıcak, açık renkleri benimsedi. 1766 Tomyris Plunging the Head of Cyrus into a Bowl of Blood adlı eseri (Paris, École normale supérieure) Prix de Rome'u kazandı ve 1769'dan 1774'e kadar Roma'daki Fransız Akademisi'nde kalmaya devam etti.
Paris'teki Académie Royale, François-Guillaume'yi 1777'de tarih ressamı olarak onayladı ve ardından Salon'da ''The Farewells of Polyxena to Hecuba''yı sergiledi. O ve diğer ressamlar, Fransız resminin daha yatay kompozisyonlar, daha heykelsi perdelikler, daha soğuk renkler ve her zamankinden daha anıtsal mimaride yer alan Büyük Stile dönmesine neden oldu. Paris'te öldü.
