Deutsch: Der Stadt Kierspe ist mit Urkunde des Herrn Innenminister NW vom 29. Juli 1969 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. „Das Wappen zeigt einen durch einen rotsilbernen(-weißen) Schachbalken des Grafen von der Mark geteilten Schild von Gold (Gelb) und Silber (Weiß), oben einen nach links schreitenden schwarzen Raben (Rauk), unten den blau bewehrten roten Löwen der Herzöge von Berg.“ Die Stadt Kierspe hat das Wappen des Amtes Kierspe weitergeführt. Das Wappen zeigt die Symbole der Herrschaftsbereiche zu dem Kierspe früher gehörte, das Herzogtum Berg (Bergischer Löwe) und die Grafschaft Mark (Schachbalken). Ferner vereinigt es die Symbole der ehemaligen Wappen der Altgemeinden Rönsahl (Löwe) und Kierspe (Rabe), welche ebenfalls dazu den Schachbalken führten.
English: „The arms were granted on July 29, 1969 and are identical to the arms of the former Amt Kierspe. The chequered bar is derived from the arms of the Counts of the Mark, as the area historically belonged to the County Mark. The lion in the base of the shield is derived from the arms of the Dukes of Berg and was part of the arms of Rönsahl. The crow is based on the nickname of the inhabitants of the village Rauk (rook, crow). “
