Necessary Roughness, Amerikalı hip hop sanatçısı The Lady of Rage'in ilk stüdyo albümü. 24 Haziran 1997'de Death Row Records etiketiyle yayınlandı. 1990'ların başlarında Dr. Dre'nin The Chronic ve Snoop Doggy Dogg'un Doggystyle albümlerinde dinleyiciyle buluşan Rage, 1994'te "Afro Puffs" adlı ilk solo single'ını Death Row'dan piyasaya çıkardı. Albümün prodüktörlüğünü Daz Dillinger, Easy Mo Bee ve DJ Premier gibi isimler üstlendi. Albüm, Amerikan Billboard 200 listesinde 32 numaraya yükseldi. Rage, albümün yayınlanmasının ardından Death Row'dan ayrılarak Snoop Dogg'un Doggy Style Records plak şirketiyle anlaştı.
