Provides standard article footnotes for documenting the source of the inflated prices calculated by {{Inflation}}.

Usage

 {{Inflation-fn}}
 {{Inflation-fn|country}}
 {{Inflation-fn|country|group=groupname}}

When the country parameter is provided, a footnote about that specific data set is generated. The country codes are the same as those used by {{Inflation}}:

When no country parameter is provided, or when an invalid country is provided, the generated footnote is a generic one:

This is the reference list generated by the above examples:

  1. ^ Australian Consumer Price Inflation figures follow the Long Term Linked Series provided in Australian Bureau of Statistics (2009) 6461.0 - Consumer Price Index: Concepts, Sources and Methods, 2009 as explained at §§3.10–3.11; this series comprises "from 1901 to 1914, the A Series Retail Price Index; from 1914 to 1946-47, the C Series Retail Price Index; from 1946-47 to 1948-49, a combination of the C Series Index, excluding rent, and the housing group of the CPI; and from 1948-49 onwards, the CPI." (3.10)
  2. ^ Canadian inflation numbers based on Statistics Canada. "Consumer Price Index, historical summary". CANSIM, table (for fee) 326-0021 and Catalogue nos. 62-001-X, 62-010-X and 62-557-X. Last modified: 2011-01-25. Retrieved January 16, 2012
  3. ^ German inflation numbers based on data available from Deutsches Statistisches Bundesamt.
  4. ^ a b c Inflated values automatically calculated.
  5. ^ UK CPI inflation numbers based on data available from Lawrence H. Officer (2010) "What Were the UK Earnings and Prices Then?" MeasuringWorth.
  6. ^ United Kingdom nominal Gross Domestic Product per capita figures follow the Measuring Worth series supplied in Lawrence H. Officer (2011), "What Was the U.K. GDP Then?" MeasuringWorth. These figures represent the figures prior to the update to the Blue Book in October 2011.
  7. ^ Staff. Consumer Price Index (estimate) 1800–2012. Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Retrieved February 22, 2012.
  8. ^ United States nominal Gross Domestic Product per capita figures follow the "Measuring Worth" series supplied in Lawrence H. Officer (2011), "What Was the U.S. GDP Then?" MeasuringWorth. These figures follow the figures as of November 2011.

Notice that the anchor names produced are based on the country parameter, or its lack thereof. As a result, the same {{Inflation-fn|country}} code can be used many times in the same article while generating only one actual footnote per country code.

Reference grouping

If it is desired to place the footnote into a reference group other than the default, the |group= parameter may be used:

  1. ^ UK CPI inflation numbers based on data available from Lawrence H. Officer (2010) "What Were the UK Earnings and Prices Then?" MeasuringWorth.

See the related section at {{Inflation}} for additional instructions and examples.

Date format

Where the country is either CA or US, the generated reference includes the retrieval date of the data, which is shown in month-first (MDY) format. For US only, this may be altered to day-first (DMY) format by adding |df=yes
